SUSTAINABLE RECONSTRUCTION PLAN (PRES) FOR CONSTITUCIÓN – CHILE

After an earthquake and tsunami devastated Chile’s southern central area on February 10, 2010, the Municipality of Constitución, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism and ARAUCO signed a public-private alliance to develop a Master Plan for the Sustainable Reconstruction (PRES) of the city of Constitución.

The purpose of the plan was to design a city based on a long term vision, recovering its relationship with the area’s geography in order to have an impact on quality of life and strengthen the coexistence of industry and tourism.
